cognizant dissident You make some good points; my feelings too.
we've had a few comments lately that show that people don't seem to fully comprehend the way moderation works or the point of it.. if someone point something that other people don't like or agree with then that is a difference of opinion.
live with it.. if someone posts something that is crude, insulting, contains bad language etc.
then it violates the posting guildelines and can and should be removed.. now, sometimes we won't immediately notice a post that should be removed.
This is an excellent forum. The rules are very clear and sensible. Moderating takes time. When you deal with the public, in any capacity, there will always be trouble-makers seeking attention.

i've been thinking about brother morris' statement at the zone meeting this past weekend that inactive ones are bloodguilty.
bloodguilt is defined as "guilty of murder or manslaughter.
" murder is #1 on the list of disfellowshipping offenses- all they would have to do is change the wording from "murder" to "bloodguilt" and suddenly there you have grounds to disfellowship anyone who's inactive.
Ah, now you see, bloodguilt is not the sort of thing that bothers gladiators.

All sorts of wierdos and fruitcakes hang around towns making a noise. Central london is full of clowns, acropbats, buskers and preachers. Hyde Park corner is pretty interesting too. I've seen the same in New York and all over Europe.
Those that want to watch or listen to their noise stop and toss coins into a hat. Those that aren't walk on by. To stop in front of any street entertainer and repeatedly tell them to shut up is rude.
For a little girl to be encouraged to behave like this is plain sad. The parents should teach her to stay away from strange men, not confront them. They must have been confident he was a nice enough guy to ignor her. He is seriously deluded in his beliefs but he handled it well; dare I say in a Christian way.
Just my take it, but then I live in the UK. Perhaps children like that are par for the course in the USA. Feel free to tell me to shut up - you must be over 18 to do so.

another basketball player recently refused to stand for the anthem while on the court and was fined by the nba, dion chose to remain in the locker-room.. have you heard of followers of islam refusing to stand for the national anthem or to say the pledge of allegiance on religious grounds.. .
When basketball players stand they make it look like everyone else is sitting down. Perhaps they should all not be allowed to stand for the National Anthem.
Many years ago I was at Wembley stadium indoor arena to see an ice-skating show. Jehovah's Witnesses had block booked a whole section. When the National Anthem was played, no-one stood. A gasp went around the arena and the skaters looked up. Apparently they assumed we were communists.
